Stone Ridge is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Upper School English to cover classes from mid-October through mid-February.

The Upper School English Long-Term Substitute Teacher is responsible for teaching Upper School English in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education. Specifically, they will teach four sections of English: three sections of 10th grade Global Perspectives in English Literature and one section of a 12th grade English Elective on Speculative Fiction. Working closely with colleagues in the English Department and throughout the Upper School, they will create and update plans for content, quality, and continuity of curriculum. The substitute teacher will actively plan with the full-time classroom teacher in advance of the leave and coordinate throughout the fall with English Department colleagues also teaching sections of these courses. Likewise, the Upper School English Long-Term Substitute Teacher collaborates with Learning Strategists and Educational Technologists to develop strategies to support all students, and they work with the Counseling staff in supporting social-emotional programming. They attend all faculty and employee meetings, fulfill other faculty duties, and maintain good communication with families about student progress.
