The Nursing Department at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University is accepting applications for one full-time, nursing faculty position to begin Fall 2023. Expertise is sought in adult/pediatric mental health nursing with a minimum of three years of recent clinical experience in acute care.
Responsibilities for this position may include clinical, classroom, and laboratory instruction, simulation design and implementation while working with a faculty course team. Academic advising, scholarship, and involvement in department governance responsibilities are anticipated with the contract.
The College of Saint Benedict (CSB), a liberal arts college for women, and Saint John's University (SJU), a liberal arts college for men, are located in the central lakes area of Minnesota, surrounded by more than 3,000 acres of pristine forests, prairies, and lakes. Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom instruction, clinical instruction, and lab supervision in the traditional BSN curriculum. Workload assignments are based on being responsible for full-time per year scheduled within the spring and fall semesters.
- Assist with the coordination of student clinical experiences.
- Provide direct clinical instruction for mental health nursing and other specialty areas.
- Have enthusiasm for and the ability to teach classroom-based instruction.
- Student advisement.
- Participation in department and campus committees.
A master's degree in nursing is required and the applicant must hold, or be eligible for, unencumbered professional nurse licensure in Minnesota.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Minimum of master’s degree in nursing at the time of the appointment;
- Unencumbered Minnesota RN license;
- Recent relevant clinical or educational experience;
- Expertise in the following areas: Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
- Commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching, and to working closely with students.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong references as an educator.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
