Job Description:
Saint Stanislaus College, a Catholic boarding school guided by the charism of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Director of Residency to lead and inspire our residential program. The Director will play a key role in shaping the daily lives of our resident students, fostering a nurturing environment that promotes academic excellence, personal growth, and spiritual development. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about working with young men and creating a home-away-from-home experience. The start date for the position is January 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision: Orient, supervise, and evaluate hall prefects and dorm staff to ensure they provide consistent, high-quality care.
Daily Engagement: Maintain a presence in the dormitory during key hours (approx. 2:30 pm – 9:30 pm) to offer support, encouragement, and guidance to staff and students. Some weekends are required.
Communication: Establish excellent communication with prefects, parents, the school administration, and the Director of Facilities to foster a cohesive residential experience.
Safety & Accountability: Oversee the safety and accountability of resident students, ensuring respectful cooperation with school staff and monitoring academic progress.
Crisis Management: Handle emergencies such as evacuations, accidents, and other urgent matters swiftly and efficiently.
Program Development: Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of student services, including study sessions, health and wellness, extracurricular activities, and spiritual life.
Ideal Candidate:
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate others.
Possess at least a Bachelor's degree; Master's degree is preferred in a related field.
Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative approach to decision-making.
A background in education, residential life, or student services, with a passion for working with young men.
