Job Description

The Proposal Development Specialist position is apart-time, 20 hours per week position within the Office for Sponsored Programs Team. This positionis essential to maintaining the university's adherence to new federal COIdisclosure requirements. By ensuring the accuracy and compliance of alldisclosures, the Proposal Development Specialist will help protect theuniversity from potential legal and financial penalties, while supporting theintegrity and smooth operation of our research administration processes.

Reporting to the AssociateDirector, Pre-Award Management, the Proposal Development Specialist will play acrucial role in ensuring the university's compliance with new federalrequirements under the CHIPS and Science Act and NSPM-33. This position isresponsible for monitoring Conflict of Interest (COI) and Financial Conflict ofInterest (FCOI) faculty disclosures, working closely with the ResearchSecurity, Integrity and Compliance (RSIC) team members to ensure that alloutgoing federal proposals and awarded grants meet these stringent regulations,as well as other agency requirements.

This role demandsexceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and strong communicationskills. Empathy, patience, and effective conflict resolution are alsoessential, as the new disclosure regulations will require significant changemanagement across the grant life cycle. The specialist must navigate thechallenges of a high-pressure, deadline-driven pre-award environment, helpingto mitigate disruptions to established processes and practices.

Hiring Range: $26.76/hr to $33.43/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
