The Lafayette Catholic School System (LCSS) has an opening for Principal at Central Catholic Jr.-Sr. High School. Central Catholic serves 450 students in grades 7 - 12. LCSS is seeking a dynamic and visionary Catholic High School Principal who will provide exceptional spiritual, educational, and professional leadership to our school community. The Principal will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the school's operations, including academic programs, student services, and faculty/staff development. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting academic excellence while upholding Catholic values and traditions. The successful candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church, hold an advanced degree and have administrative experience. The Principal is responsible for implementing the policies of LCSS and the Indiana State Department of Education. The Principal reports to the LCSS President.
SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP The Principal focuses on the spiritual formation and faith development of students and staff.
Conduct one’s personal and professional life consistent with Gospel values, life of prayer, service, and active parish participation.
Create and sustain a faith community through prayer, liturgy, and Catholic spiritual traditions.
Oversee the implementation of National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools.
Provide spiritual enrichment opportunities, for teachers and staff members.
Establish positive working relationships with pastors, school personnel, students, parents, Board of Directors, and community members.
EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP The Principal focuses on the academic formation and advancement of students and staff members.
Ensure compliance with all diocesan, state, and federal regulations governing Catholic schools.
Implement instructional strategies that promote student engagement and academic achievement.
Recruit, hire, and retain a high-quality faculty and staff that is committed to the school's mission.
Place and assign staff to meet the needs of students and the school community.
Develop and implement a professional development program for all staff.
Collaborate with staff members concerning the implementation of Indiana Department of Education Academic Standards.
Facilitate communication and instructional decision-making among staff members.
Encourage instructional strategies and techniques that meet the students’ diverse needs.
Implement required assessments as mandated by the Indiana Department of Education and the Diocese of Lafayette.
Analyze assessment data to determine curricular and instructional direction.
Provide supervision of students and promote student responsibility in an organized and disciplined environment.
Facilitate an atmosphere conducive to teaching and learning.
PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP The Principal focuses on developing and challenging a highly-qualified and professional staff. The Principal communicates the mission and vision of the school to stakeholders.
Supervise all teachers and staff, including the leadership team consisting of the Athletic Director, Guidance Director, Campus Ministry Director, and Assistant Principal.
Collaborate with parents, alumni, and community members to promote the school's mission and values.
Serve as a visible and accessible leader within the school community and beyond.
Model Catholic values and traditions and promote the spiritual growth of students, faculty, and staff.
Follow the diocesan policies as stated in the Administrative Handbook.
Reprimand or terminate personnel in consultation with the LCSS President and Diocesan Office of Catholic Schools.
Conduct informal and formal observations of all staff members.
Practice a collaborative leadership style including appropriate confidentiality and effective communication to all stakeholders.
Develop and monitor the school budget in conjunction with the President and Finance Director.
Use feedback from all stakeholders to improve student achievement and overall effectiveness of the school.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Practicing Catholic with a deep commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the school.
Advanced degree in School/Education Administration preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience in educational leadership, preferably in a Catholic school setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate faculty, staff, and students.
Knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, and instructional practices.
Experience in financial management and fundraising.
Understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing Catholic schools.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders.
