This is a full-time (100%) position starting July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the school term (early-August through the end of May). Hours are dependent on school and department needs when school is not in session; including winter break, spring break, and summer.
Additional attendance will be required for In-service days, finals weeks, faculty & departmental meetings, Edgewood in the Community, Back-to-School Night, New Student Induction, Graduation, open houses, Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences, Summer Registration Day, Orientation Days, evening and weekend events, and retreats.
Creating a positive school culture by integrating the Edgewood values of Truth, Compassion, Justice, Community, and Partnership in the formation of the students.
Assume primary administrative responsibility in all that pertains to student attendance and student conduct.
Submit for administrative and board consideration attendance and student behavior policies as developed in conjunction with appropriate personnel.
Maintain an accurate record keeping system regarding student eligibility and communicate this to coaches and administrators.
Attend events in each sport on a regular basis to show support and enhance communication with coaching staff and athletes.
Continue to develop and implement a long range plan with the Activity Director for the athletic department.
Develop and implement a model to evaluate and improve coaches.
Maintain and update parking rules and safety. Manage student, faculty and staff parking permits.
Assume administrative leadership of the building in the absence of the president and/or principal.
Assume other responsibilities as dictated by situations and delegated by the president or principal.
Take responsibility as delegated by the principal in curriculum review, curriculum development and departmental affairs.

Providing for school safety:
Effectively engages the entire community to develop a more nuanced/expanded understanding of what it means to be safe.

Partnering with the school community to promote student learning:
Understands the greater community and works to establish a genuine partnership model between home and school. Acts as liaison with the Edgewood Parent Community.
Aligns school and community efforts and values as a work in progress that must be nurtured, sustained, and monitored, and is able to influence others to adopt the same understanding.
Leadership and Governance:
Consistently demonstrates high moral, ethical, and professional standards of performance and personal integrity, which includes addressing problems and issues in an open, honest, and timely manner.

Act as administrator in the absence of the principal, making decisions necessary for the smooth operation of the school during such absence.
Actively participates in, and advocates for, the school in meetings, workshops and conferences by providing supportive and respectful input to the decision making processes affecting the school.
Acts as a consultant to the principal, especially in areas of hiring, teaching assignments, and performance evaluations.
Participates in school academic, athletic, and co-curricular activities to supervise and advocate for the school which may take place outside of non-traditional work times.
Manage and oversee summer academic programs.
Assists in disciplinary actions when needed.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Masters Degree in school administration or equivalent Masters Degree with experience.
Previous school administration experience preferred.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, and coaches to create a climate of mutual support and high expectations.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Good interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all constituents of the Edgewood High School community to continually promote the mission.
Must have the proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
Perform all other related work/responsibilities to accomplish the objectives of the total school program as delegated by the president or principal.
Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology including good working knowledge of the Google platform along with the interest and ability to learn new software products.
Meet professional teacher education requirements of school, state, and Dominican Order.
Participation in prayer and other religious experiences and in service to others.
