Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in relevant area; Chemistry, Environmental Science
· Master’s degree; 3-5 years high school teaching experience is preferred.
· Experience with academic technology and/or an enthusiastic willingness to be trained to employ new tools.
· Minimum 1-year high school teaching experience in chemistry or physical science
· Experience working independently and in a collaborative environment
A more competitive candidate will have:
Experience teaching a wide variety of course levels of chemistry including on level, honors and/or AP chemistry.
Experience teaching science at an all-girls high school
Experience with innovative teaching strategies; such as POGIL, inquiry labs and/or case studies.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
· Stands 50% or more of the workday
· Sight, hearing and speech are essential for communication
· Lifts up to 10 pounds without assistance
