Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy is a Catholic, Dominican, independent, college-preparatory, day and boarding high school whose mission is to educate young women for a life of faith, integrity and truth. We are seeking a full-time chemistry teacher for the 2023-2024 academic school year. Successful candidates are enthusiastic, creative, committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion and teach using student-centered, active-learning modalities. The teacher must be willing to follow a pre-defined curriculum for both on level and honors chemistry courses in their first year, prioritize safety in the lab and complete a safety certificate within their first two months. We are looking for a teacher who conveys a love for science, eagerly participates in the school community outside the classroom, and supports the mission of the school. As part of an integrated and dynamic faculty, all teachers are involved in co-curricular programs and should share in a commitment to a holistic approach to educating young women. In addition, teachers will exhibit excellent classroom management, communication, and organization skills along with an ability to connect with parents, students, and colleagues in a professional manner.
