Position: Full-time;Middle and High School (6 - 12)
Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 commensurate with background and experience
Responsibilities:
Teach middle and high school-level English courses, including providing writing instruction within a variety of contexts
Demonstrate a broad knowledge of classic and modern literature, including adolescent literature
Plan, structure, and implement interactive lessons that develop students’ critical thinking and analytical skills and provide students with methods of interpretation, analysis, and research
Effectively use appropriate technology tools and a range of other instructional resources
Work collaboratively with a high degree of professionalism with colleagues for curriculum planning, student support, and mentoring
Hold high expectations for every student and differentiate instruction to attend to the learning and social-emotional needs of students
Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and administration
Serve as a full community member by attending meetings, participating in committees, and volunteering for various student activities and school events
Contribute constructively to all faculty discussions and continue to grow professionally (i.e. conferences, in-service training, staying current on professional literature)
Experience/Qualifications:
Passion for teaching in Catholic, faith-based education
Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature or related field; Master’s Degree preferred
Experience teaching English at the secondary level
New York State teacher certification in English preferred
