Basic Function: Two Assistant Dean of Students positions are available.
One Assistant Dean will be responsible for students in the class of 2024 and 2026 and schoolwide programming
The second Assistant Dean will be responsible for students in the class of 2025 and 2027 and all clubs, intramurals and cocurricular activities.
Education and Experience Requirements: Master’s Degree in Secondary Education or a related field, or the current pursuit of this degree, is preferred. Experience teaching or as an administrator in a high school setting. Must have experience with, or be familiar with, the mission of Catholic, Jesuit education.
Essential Functions: For each class the Assistant Dean is responsible for, the Assistant Dean will be responsible for:
Enforcing all student rules and regulations and oversee student conduct, student discipline and student behavior during school day in the Prep buildings, on the Fairfield University campus, and at all school functions both on and off campus including dances, athletic events, and the Fairfield Train Station.
When infractions occur, administer disciplinary penalties and consult with the Principal on infractions that involve suspension and / or expulsion.
Organize and execute daily student
Maintain meticulous student disciplinary
Oversee student daily attendance including maintaining student attendance records and communicating with faculty members, students and families when concerning attendance trends arise and when attendance exceeds standards established in the Student Handbook
Work collaboratively with the Academic Dean and School Counseling Department on matters of student attendance and behavioral interventions.
Assign lockers and supervise the cleaning of lockers at the end of the academic
Organize, plan and execute yearly student orientations and the transfer student onboarding, orientation and advisory program.
Organize, plan and execute Student Advisory Program in conjunction with Guidance
Organize, plan and execute student leadership formation programs in conjunction with the Campus Ministry and Athletic Departments.
Coordinate the Magis Scholar program including tracking and gathering data on academics and co- curricular involvement, planning orientation for incoming scholars in the spring, running a Magis Scholar mentor program, and organizing, planning and executing monthly / semester events.
Gather qualitative and quantitative data about all aspects of the student
Organize, plan and execute social events for the class and / or with other local all-girls Catholic
Assist the Director of Diversity and Community Engagement with community
Serve as member of various leadership teams, such as School Team, Retention Team and Mission

In addition, the Assistant Dean responsible for schoolwide programming will:
Organize, plan, and execute all schoolwide student programming (community periods, speakers, school assemblies, etc).
In addition, the Assistant Dean responsible for all clubs, intramurals and cocurricular activities will:
Serve as advisor for all club moderators and leaders and assist in planning and marketing all co-curricular clubs, activities, and events
Coordinate intramural program in partnership with the Athletic Department
Performs such other duties, responsibilities, and activities as required by supervisor and as departmental/Fairfield Prep needs indicate.
