Job DescriptionThe Senior/Prospect Development Analyst is a member of theteam within University Advancement that ensures the optimal distribution ofprospective donors to fundraiser portfolios and provides information andinsights required to manage our relationship with these constituents. The Senior/ProspectDevelopment Analyst will join a team of professionals who bring diverse skillsand experiences in prospect research, relationship management, and dataanalysis to deliver best-in-class internal consulting to the entire advancementorganization.
The Analyst will collaborate with Prospect Development teammembers as well as colleagues across University Advancement to provide outreachprioritization, prospect identification, ad-hoc data querying, and reportdevelopment for discovery and cultivation of donors at all levels, but with aspecific focus on Leadership and Annual giving. This position may work closelywith one or several teams of frontline fundraisers.
Primary duties:
- Create lists on an ad-hoc basis as requested by prospect development team members or fundraising partners.
- Analyze data to help drive prospect discovery and prioritize the top prospective donors for qualification by development staff.
- Utilize CRM tools to increase the efficiency of the prospect development team's work.
- Develop reports to track donor activity, fundraiser metrics, and internal processes.
- Meet with development officers to ensure a clear understanding of fundraising goals and present data-informed recommendations.
- Assist in the maintenance of fundraiser portfolios and discovery pools, including through the use of batch upload tools.
- Partner with new development officers to develop and establish new portfolios, and transition portfolios following development staffing changes.
- Analyze fundraiser portfolio activity to evaluate the success of outreach strategy.
- Foster a process-oriented mindset on the prospect development. This may include documenting business processes and centralizing resources.
- Monitor a variety of sources, including relevant websites, government documents, newspapers, periodicals, screening data, and leads from development officers to identify new prospective donors.
- Evaluate prospective donors' capacity to give to Boston College.
Title and salary commensurate withrelevant experience based on the following titles and hiring ranges:
Prospect Development Analyst: $53,960- $67,450 (1-3 years professional experience)
Sr. Prospect Development Analyst: $59,560 - $74,450 (3+years professional experience)
RequirementsThis position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years ofrelated professional experience, and for the Senior level, 3+ years of relatedprofessional experience. Aptitude for analysis and understanding of data anddatabases is critical. Experience with SQL and PowerBI is preferred but notrequired. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with Blackbaud CRM orEvertrue is a plus. Education and experience equivalencies will be considered.
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, andwork planning skills are required. A sense of curiosity and an ability to workas a part of a cohesive team are also key prerequisites. This position involveswork with highly confidential information where complete discretion isrequired.
