Position Summary: Gannon University's Villa Maria School of Nursing located at the Erie, Pennsylvania campus seeks a 9-month, tenure track or teaching track faculty member to begin August 2023. Gannon seeks excellence through inclusiveness and invites members of underrepresented groups to apply.Gannon University is committed to excellence in student-centered learning with an emphasis on student-learning outcomes. Gannon faculty work collaboratively with colleagues, deliver instruction, advise students, engage in scholarship, and participate in service. Established as one of the first baccalaureate nursing programs in Pennsylvania, the Villa Maria School of Nursing houses a large undergraduate BSN program as well as three graduate programs, all of which have earned CCNE accreditation. Faculty are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, as assigned. All faculty must be able to support and promote the University's inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions. Candidates must provide evidence of competence in diverse teaching methods and effective classroom and clinical instruction.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a registered nurse with a masters degree in nursing.
Must possess or be eligible to obtain nursing licensure in Pennsylvania.
Must be able to support and promote the Universitys inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in medical surgical nursing and/or mental health nursing.
An earned doctorate in nursing or a closely related field; applicants who are enrolled or in process of enrolling to doctoral programs are also encouraged to apply. A doctorate degree is required for a tenure track faculty appointment.
Recent clinical and teaching experience in a program of higher education.
