Faculty at Mount Carmel High School are blessed to teach some of the most hardworking, respectful, and passionate young men from Chicago, the surrounding suburbs, and Northwest Indiana. Classes
This teacher will be responsible for Math, such as Alg. I, Alg. II and Pre-Cal. Active participation in Math Department meetings, and other engagements are required. Such events are Open House, Personal Tour Nights, etc. Final class schedules will be determined on/before July 1.
Job Requirements
Provide a positive environment that encourages students to be engaged in the learning process, including active and responsible use of technology. Implements instructional techniques that contribute to an atmosphere where our young men are engaged in meaningful learning experiences. Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. Uses and analyzes available data to drive instructional practices. Maintains effective, efficient, and timely grading procedures. Establishes and maintains cooperative and professional working relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, including the Principal, Department Chair, Campus Ministry, etc. Strong candidates will also be able to fit in with two ongoing initiatives at Mount Carmel: 1:1 learning and cross-curricular instruction.
Job Qualifications
Candidates must possess the following:
Degree in secondary education (or will obtain by July 1, 2023)
Valid teaching license (or will obtain by July 1, 2023)
Illinois certification preferred, but not required.
Virtus Training Certification (or completed within first 90 days of employment at Mount Carmel).
Submit to an Illinois State Background Check with fingerprinting.
