MCP English teachers use a variety of techniques in the classroom, and are comfortable integrating technology into the curriculum. MCP uses CANVAS as our virtual classroom so experience in CANVAS (or other online Learning Management Systems) is a requisite skill. The school expects candidates to have an ability to use differentiated instruction and who has a background in curricular and pedagogical innovation. Responsibilities for this position also include collaboration and full participation in an English department to ensure excellent scope and sequence, as well as participation in a professional, Catholic school-wide learning community.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or advanced degree in English as well as a teaching credential in English/Language Arts. This candidate will have English teaching experience, will be qualified to teach students in 9th through 12th grade, will be versed in academic areas including American Literature, World Literature, British Literature, and Contemporary Literature. The ideal candidate will also have experience with honors and AP courses.
