St. Raphael Catholic Church & School seeks a dynamic, faith filled, Principal to begin the 2023-2024 academic year on July 1, 2023. St. Raphael Church was founded in the 1962 on beautiful Snell Isle in St. Petersburg, Florida, and we have grown to 1500 families. Our parish and school are committed to working together to strengthen families and raise our children in the love of God and accompany them to find their place in this world in building the Kingdom. Our Catholic identity is grounded in prayer and a strong sense of community, rooted in our sacramental life, while growing in discipleship, serving the poor, working for justice, and reaching the lost. St. Raphael Catholic School was founded in 1964 as a place where faith, academics, and community come together around “Christ our cornerstone.” We empower all to strive for academic excellence, provide faith-filled service to others, reflect Catholic values, and become responsible leaders of the Church and community. The ideal applicant will be a faith leader as well as the academic leader of our parish Catholic school serving 185 students in PreK4 through eighth grades.
The successful candidate will be spiritually motivated in living and sharing the values and philosophy of the Catholic faith infused in Catholic educations. Candidates will exemplify instructional leadership, with mission-driven, data-informed decision making in mentorship and accompaniment of teachers. Candidates will possess communication skills, a knowledge of current educational methods, and proven leadership skills. Applicants should have ample classroom and school administrative experience. Master in Educational Administration is preferable or at least eighteen semester hours of graduate work in administration, supervision, and curriculum development, with an a willingness to complete a related Master’s program.

Meet the requirements for principals according to the Diocese of St. Petersburg, the Florida Department of Education, and the Florida Catholic Conference.
Possess (or be eligible to receive) a State of Florida principal certificate, including required graduate coursework in educational leadership. A minimum of seven years of teaching experience or five years of experience leading a school. Master’s degree in Educational Administration preferred.
