Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator - Minority Development Internship Program

This is a front facing and administrative position that will assist our Center for Diversity and Excellence. The DEI Coordinator will be the first point of contact for the Center for Diversity and Excellence. The Minority Development Internship Program is housed in Human Resources. The HR Administrator will provide guidance, and mentorship throughout the duration of this program. This position is a full time, benefits eligible, one-year appointment with the opportunity to renew up to two years.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates All Student Group Activities for the Center for Excellence in Diversity and Student Inclusion.
Coordinates all group discussions to assess well-being, progress, and address concerns.
Assesses needs of all minority student organizations affiliated with the office.
Coordinates weekly meeting requests and convening of all student organizations.
Creates monthly/weekly event calendar for student organizations.
Promotes and maintains social media and campus outlets for advertising events.
Fulfills bi-weekly meeting with individual organization student leaders (President meeting’s).
Assesses financial budgets of each student organization group.
Connects weekly with over 20 corporate partners to assess relationship needs, solicit scholarship funds, and fulfill agreed deliverables.
Coordinates and fulfill meetings with select corporations to complete a profile of their Diversity & Inclusion efforts; submit a portfolio with opportunities for strategic engagement (Corporate funding).
Facilitates Special Meetings & Fulfill Associated Requests.
Facilitates one-on-one meetings with students in at-risk situations.
Coordinates student development series meetings; secure guest presenters, coordinate meeting times and secure student attendance (RIM).
Coordinates Pre-Orientation program.
Represents office at meetings and events as requested by office staff.
Completes other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or Equivalent.
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
