Holy Child School at Rosemont is a Catholic, co-educational, independent school (early childhood - grade 8) located near the campuses of Villanova University and Rosemont College in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. We strive to “Nurture Excellence in a Joyful Catholic Community” and seek applicants to help us live and implement that Vision Statement as a Middle School Art teacher.

Our Middle School is fully departmentalized. It offers a purposeful and balanced program that infuses traditional and innovative teaching styles in a warm and nurturing environment, preparing students for the next step in their learning. There are two sections in each grade (5-8) with approximately 16 children in each section.

The belief that the fine and performing arts are an integral part of a child’s education is a longstanding one in the history of Holy Child Schools, and so the arts program at Holy Child is well funded and strongly supported, including separate art studios for lower school and middle school students.

We seek a dynamic educator to teach art in grades 5-8; to integrate art with other curricula; to work closely with the Lower School art teacher, to ensure continuity of curriculum and program, and ideally to serve as an Advisor to a group of 10-12 middle school students. 

Candidates must be committed to helping emerging adolescents grow to their full potential, academically, and social/emotionally.  This is a part-time position with benefits that reports to the Director of the Middle School, with the possibility of being full time .  Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and ideally will have 3-5 years experience teaching art to Middle School (grades 5-8) students.

• Be energetic and enthusiastic about teaching multiple media
• Work to integrate art into other areas of the curriculum
• Know how to use technology effectively as a teaching and communication tool
• Love middle school children and the developmental challenges and opportunities they present
• Value collegiality and be a team player
• Understand and appreciate our mission and philosophy as a Holy Child School
• Communicate consistently and well with parents
• Contribute to the extracurricular life of the school via coaching a sport or moderating an activity (drama, yearbook, student council, etc)
