Catholic education in the Black Hills of South Dakota began in 1889, with the founding of St. Martin's Convent and Academy by the Benedictine Sisters. The drive for Catholic education continued to grow and is today home to the Rapid City Catholic School System, a diocesan school consisting of 750 students in Preschool - 12th grade.
Today, the Board of Directors is seeking a highly qualified strategic visionary to serve as Director of Advancement. An ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic with knowledge of Catholic education. He or she will possess a strong working knowledge of strategic planning, fundraising, and Catholic educational traditions.
Minimum Requirements:
Practicing Catholic whose beliefs are in line with the Catholic faith
Thorough understanding of Catholic educational traditions
Deep knowledge of fundraising and enrollment metrics and strategic planning
Leadership and team building experience required
Bachelors Degree in business, social service, nonprofit management or related field required, or 8 - 10 years related work experience

Shows the essential marks of Catholic faith. The ideal candidate will live a life inspired by a supernatural vision, founded in Christian Anthropology, animated by communion and community, imbued with a Catholic word view, and sustained by Gospel witness
Ability to represent the school and the Church effectively
Understanding of the principles and techniques of successful non-profit development; including, the various types of giving, marketing, communications, and grant procurement
Strong understanding and proven experience in cultivating positive relationships with donors, stewardship, solicitation
Oral and written communication and motivational skills
Collaborative leadership style with good interpersonal and team-building skills
Intellectual, organizational, and managerial skills
Ability to lead and engage others in long-term planning

The Rapid City Catholic School System is located in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota.
