The President of Mercy High School, Omaha, Nebraska, is appointed by the Board of Directors with the approval of the Mercy Education System of the Americas, a sponsored ministry of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. The President is the Chief Executive Officer and is directly responsible for the overall leadership of the school. The President must ensure that the philosophy and mission of the Sisters of Mercy and the decisions, directives, and policies established by the Board of Directors are realized at Mercy High School. Additionally, the President is accountable for effective management policies and practices that ensure financial viability, as well as ensure a culture of compassion, teamwork, trust, and collaboration. Finally, the President must be an active Catholic who has respect for the faith and religious beliefs of others. Key leaders reporting directly to the President include the Principal, the Vice President for Advancement, and the Director of Finance. The responsibilities of the President include but are not limited to the following areas: advancement of the mission and core values of Mercy High School, facilitation of the Negotiated Tuition Assistance Program, development and fundraising, finance, budgeting, investments, long-range planning, needs assessment, Board of Directors development activities, public relations, and recruitment. The President represents Mercy High School at various school, social, civic, and religious functions. The leadership focus of the President must be on achieving results aligned to the larger picture of the organization and its strategic goals. Initiative, drive, and the ability to stay focused on results are essential to successful navigation of changing conditions. The President must be purpose-driven and mission oriented, as well as motivational and engaging with an array of groups and individuals. A successful president will build rapport and maintain effective relationships with the Mercy community which includes students, parents, teachers, staff, board members, alumnae, and funders. The President must be a team-builder, as well as an effective delegator able to ensure accountability for results. The Base Salary for this position will be $150,000.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants are expected to have an active Catholic faith life; 5 to 7 years minimum experience in a senior or executive leadership role; evidence of success leading an organization through change, familiarity with the mission of the Sisters of Mercy
Preferred Qualifications:
Significant senior or executive leadership experience, preferably within an education setting; Advanced degree in Leadership/Educational Administration; Nebraska Secondary Education Certification
