Located in a thriving northwest Austin region, Savio provides instructional methods with a 21st-century classroom experience that incorporates cooperative learning and problem-solving approaches, along with innovative technology integrations to enhance learning. Built on an expansive 55-acre campus, the school opened in August 2009 with 86 students. Today, after multiple facility expansions, over 400 students call Savio home.

Savio’s Principal serves as the school’s spiritual and educational leader and is responsible for exercising judgment in implementing a broad array of programs and functions. These responsibilities encompass spiritual development and realizing the school’s philosophy, curriculum, co-curricular activities, discipline, and personnel practices. The Principal collaborates with the school President on decisions concerning school facilities, marketing, and community relations. In fulfilling this role, the Principal is directly responsible to the President and is supported by two Assistant Principals.
As the primary leader of the school’s academic program, the Principal needs to be an experienced educational leader with a deep understanding and appreciation for the challenges high school students and their families are facing today. In addition, candidates will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, the prudence to delegate appropriately, and the will to hold the administrative team, faculty, and staff accountable to shared goals, desired outcomes, independent judgment, and creative initiatives.
The candidates we seek will be actively Catholic and in communion with the Church, understand their role in fostering a vibrant Catholic school culture, have progressive and proven experience leading academically rigorous curriculums and co-curricular activities. Experience in the President/Principal model is a plus.
This is an outstanding opportunity to help shape the educational experience for students, faculty, staff, and families at a premier Catholic college preparatory school in the Diocese of Austin. The next Principal is expected to bring the energy, charisma, vision, and leadership skills necessary for this school community to deliver its respected Catholic college preparatory education successfully.
