Bishop Feehan is seeking two Vice Principals of Student Life, who can help our students achieve success in Sanctity, Scholarship, and Sportsmanship, and set their hearts on things above, and not on goods of earth.
Bishop Feehan is a highly successful, regional, proudly Catholic high school, grades 9-12. We are full, with an enrollment of nearly 1,100 students from Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. We are expanding our leadership team from one Vice Principal of Student Life to two Vice Principals, as part of an exciting reorganization and expansion of leadership opportunity and capacity. Each Vice Principal will serve a critical leadership role in the school’s administrative team and report directly to the principal. The successful candidates must be able to work closely together to maintain consistent policy.
The Vice Principals of Student Life will be directly and collectively responsible for overall school climate, student discipline, and student culture. He or she must be able to help students meet high behavioral expectations, primarily through forging strong relationships with students, inside and outside of school hours. He or she will work to be a significant positive force in the students’ lives, will want all students to succeed, and will also hold them to account when needed. He or she must be able to clearly communicate the school’s expectations to students in a way that inspires.
He or she must show the students his/her support by being a visible, positive presence at various student life events and athletic competitions, in and out of school hours. A commitment to presence and leadership outside of the formal school day is required to make the role successful.
The Vice Principal of Student Life must also be able to form strong relationships with faculty and staff, as a servant leader. He or she will take every opportunity to improve relationships, to deal considerately with every proposal, and to become acknowledged as an effective listener. Each Vice Principal will be assigned two full classes (grades) of students, and will follow them throughout the classes’ four years of high school. He or she will be responsible for the student life activities appropriate to each grade.
Contract: 200 days/year (180 plus 10 before school year and ten after)
Duties Include:
Teaching: Each Vice Principal will teach two classes in his or her content area.
Administrative: Vice Principals of Student Life will act in the capacity of a school administrator and assist the Principal in the performance of duties in the following categories:
Administration
Student Life
Discipline
School Safety

Leadership experience in education, preferably at the high school level.
5 years teaching experience at the high school level.
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or similar.
