Job Overview
The Christian Life Coordinator helps to promote Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox Christian Life on campus, and foster ecumenical engagement and understanding. They work with chaplains and other program staff to enrich the spiritual lives of Georgetown's students, faculty, and staff, through the coordination of religious services, pastoral support, service opportunities, and events.
They oversee the promotion and execution of programs, events, and initiatives; facilitate connections between Christian students and their communities; recruit and train student leaders; and serve as a welcoming and affirming presence at services and events.
The Coordinator also assists the Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox Chaplaincy Directors to bring the vision of each tradition to life - fostering collaboration among Christian ministries, student organizations, and affiliated ministries.
Work Interactions
Reporting to the Chaplaincy Directors and providing support to the Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox Christian chaplains, the Christian Life Coordinator is a member of the Ecumenical Team, and works in collaboration with members of the Campus Ministry staff.
Managing a team of student workers, they also work closely with other program staff (including Hospitality, Communications and Outreach, Student Engagement, and Interreligious staff members).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with coursework in theology or religious studies - preference for a Master's degree
At least 2 years of relevant administrative and programmatic experience in a ministry environment or religious organization
strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and basic Excel
Skilled in web content and social media management
Ability to work effectively with colleagues of other faith traditions, to take initiative leading collaborative projects, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred qualifications
Knowledge of the breadth of Christian perspective
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to contribute to a collaborative environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
