Stone Ridge is seeking a Middle School Educational Technology Specialist to begin work in August 2023.

The Middle School Educational Technology Specialist is responsible for implementing the Middle School Educational Technology and Innovation Program and supporting faculty and student technology use in the Middle School. The Educational Technology Specialist will work collaboratively with faculty and staff teams and team members to develop and enact interdisciplinary curricular integrations and initiatives. The Educational Technology Specialist will provide faculty leadership and professional development, management of divisional innovation spaces and technology resources, direct instruction, and general support for classroom technology applications. The Educational Technologist demonstrates a commitment to the Goals and Criteria through a professional, strategic, and caring demeanor. This position is a 10-month academic position with teaching and faculty support responsibilities.
Requirements: Communication & Leadership --Maintains a current understanding of best practices in educational technology and innovation, and implements these practices as an academic leader and collaborator. --Acts as liaison between the IT department, the Educational Technology and Innovation team, and the divisional faculty and administration. --Develops language and understanding with faculty around Program offerings and priorities.
Support --Supports virtual instruction where needed and facilitates global digital partnerships with students and faculty. --Integrates the Educational Technology and Innovation Program Plan, initiatives, tools, and programs into classrooms and teaching practice in collaboration with faculty. --Collaborates with teachers to integrate educational technology and innovation content and practices into core curriculum. --Effectively consults with, trains, and coaches faculty and staff to build educational technology and innovation capacity and programming. --Manages the Middle School Makerspace program. --Supports and facilitates the initiatives of the Educational Technology and Innovation department, the Division, and the School.
Instruction --Fulfills the duties of a full-time divisional faculty member curriculum development and direct instruction. --Serves as an Advisor in the Middle School Advisory program, and meets with parents during parent conferences and as needed. --Provides direct instruction and curricular development as needed for digital citizenship initiatives. --Develops and implements co-curricular offerings (clubs, field work, etc.).
The desired candidate has: --Bachelor’s Degree in related field, graduate degree preferred --Facility with Microsoft Office,Google Workspace, learning management systems (LMS), and virtual meeting platforms (Google Meet, Zoom) --Experience in a faculty support role within a school environment --Excellent problem-solving and project-management skills --Strong collaboration and oral and written communication skills --Experience with curriculum design and pedagogical best practices --Strong organizational skills and detail oriented --Teaching experience required --Experience in providing professional development and training preferred
