HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH TEACHER

Eastside Catholic is seeking a passionate, creative and committed High School English Teacher for the 2022-23 school year. This role will be a full-time position with benefits. We seek candidates who have a love of teaching, strong collaborative skills and a desire to be a member of a faith-based educational community. A successful applicant will have the ability to teach beginning through advanced level coursework and skills in teaching both literature and composition.

REQUIREMENTS

• Commitment to our academic goals and school Touchstones
• Willingness to actively participate and contribute to the EC community
• Recent teaching experience at the high school level
• Emphasis on development of students’ critical thinking and written presentation skills
• Willingness to collaborate with teaching partners in development of courses and curriculum
• Ability to employ various pedagogical mediums in innovative and creative ways
• Ability to address the needs and concerns of a multicultural classroom
• Clear, consistent communication with students, parents and colleagues

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in English, master’s degree preferred
• Washington state teaching certificate with an endorsement in English preferred
• Experience teaching advanced level courses preferred
• Willingness to supervise extracurricular activities and take on a mentor role
