POSITION REPORTS TO Director of Athletics with dotted line to Office of College Compliance and Ethics
Manhattan College, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking a 12 month, full-time position of Associate Director Athletics for NCAA Compliance, Eligibility, and Student-Athlete Development.
RESPONSIBILITIES: To include but are not limited to:
- Provides leadership to the department relative to education, monitoring, enforcement, and maintenance of an NCAA complaint department.
- continuously assess and demonstrate that Vanderbilt University meets the NCAA’s definition of institutional control, University policy,Ensures that the department is in compliance with all rules and regulations of the institution, MAAC Conference, and the NCAA.
- Educates campus constituents while administering the department’s compliance program and recommends appropriate actions to ensure compliance throughout the department.
- Will continuously assess and demonstrate that Manhattan College meets the NCAA’s definition of institutional control.
- Investigates and reports any rules infractions.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules compliance (i.e., recruiting, financial aid, eligibility, extra benefits, camps, and clinics, etc.) and legislative and academic initiatives through professional associations.
- Administers compliance education program by conducting group and individual sport meetings and newsletters.
- Responsible for roster management.
- Monitors the status of incoming and outgoing transfer student-athletes.
- Assists with the data collection for APR, GSR, and federal graduation reports.
- Ensures that the final certification of initial and continuing eligibility is complete for student-athletes in 19 varsity sports.
- Prepares waivers, releases, transfer evaluations, and reports for the conference or national office.
- Monitors and implements the National Letter of Intent Program.
- Works closely with offices of Academic Support Services, Enrollment and Financial Services, Registrar, Bursar, and FAR as part of the team that certifies academic and athletic eligibility.
- Participation in Admissions and Orientation Programs.
- Attends conference and national meetings as required.
- Possible sport supervision.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree required Master’s Degree preferred.
- Prior experience with compliance and eligibility process at the Division I level.
- Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work with NCAA Compliance Assistant Programs and ARMS.
- Required to travel and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with coaches, students, faculty, administration, and community.
