World Language Teacher – Italian – Part-time

Position:  Part-Time

Level: grades 10 – 11, one section

Reports to:  World Language, Department Chair

The Ursuline School is seeking a teacher with experience and enthusiasm to teach our

programmed study of Italian language. Prospective applicants must demonstrate the ability to provide both content and project-based learning. Applicants also must be comfortable collaboratively planning curriculum.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, structure, and implement interactive lessons that develop students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Effectively use appropriate technology and tools.
• Hold high expectations for every student. Provide necessary accommodations and modifications for growth and success of all students.
• Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
• Keep students and parents well informed of student progress by providing feedback, focused learning intentions, and clear success criteria.

Experience/Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in language studies
• Prior high school teaching experience in content areas a plus
• Competency in other World Languages a plus
• Excellent communication skills
• A master’s degree or teacher certification preferred
