Saints Peter & Paul High School is seeking a full-time Campus Minister for 2022 - 2023 academic year. Located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Saints Peter & Paul High is a Catholic, coed, college preparatory school serving grades 9-12 since 1958. The Campus Minister is a lay or religious minister whose role involves empowering the formation of young people in their spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional growth through spiritual formation, service and leadership. The Campus Minister shares responsibility for the faith formation program of the school and the promotion of the school’s mission and Catholic identity. The Campus Minister is appointed and supervised by the Principal.
Responsibilities:
- Creates and leads a variety of spiritual exercises and experiences for the development of faculty/student faith formation.
- Engages in the life of the high school (presence at assemblies, meetings, events, etc.)
- Participates in school-wide, departmental, and mentor team meetings
- Works with student leaders in preparing prayer services and Catholic Masses
- Oversees the service program for all students.
- Coordinates retreats for all grade levels including the recruitment of student leaders and their formation
- Assists in providing spiritual guidance, crisis intervention, and a supportive presence for students and families
- Teaches Theology and DeSpiritus Leadership courses as needed
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
- Bachelor’s degree required, in Theology or related field.
- Experience in teaching, campus/youth ministry, or related field.
- Ability to build positive relationships with high school students and colleagues.
- Demonstrates genuine understanding or willingness to learn/understand the community and the demands students feel on a daily basis
