Maryvale Preparatory School is seeking a full-time Theology/Religion Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching and have a proven record of teaching theology to middle and/or high school students. She/he must successfully pass a criminal background check. This position is exempt and will report directly to the Middle School Head and Upper School Head.

Responsibilities include:

• Teach various Middle School and/or Upper School Theology/Religion classes
• Assist in the planning of service trips/opportunities
• Collaborate with the Theology department on campus initiatives
• Serve as an Advisor in the student Advisory Program
• Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or Pastoral Studies required; Master’s Degree preferred
• Experience working in an independent school setting preferred
• Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents
• Eagerness to embrace the mission and values of Maryvale and our connection to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur
• Commitment to equity and inclusion and have experience working with a diverse student population
• Commitment to single gender education for young women
• Genuine enthusiasm, personal warmth, and high energy level
• Advocate of Catholic Social Teaching
• Practicing Roman Catholic with a strong foundation in Catholic theology and ongoing faith formation

Additional Requirements:

• Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment
• Subject to a Child Protection Services screening prior to employment
• Subject to a MSDE Employment History Review screening for Child Sexual Abuse and Sexual Misconduct
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required
