Connelly School of the Holy Child is seeking a passionate Upper School Science Teacher to join our outstanding faculty for the 2022-2023 School year. We welcome candidates that demonstrate a strong commitment to the uniqueness of each student; where innovation, academic excellence, and a joy of learning are a priority. Responsibilities include:

• Teach Anatomy and Physiology as well as other high school science with an emphasis in life science (flexibility in course assignments based on candidate expertise and interest)
• Serve as an advisor in the Student Advisory Program
• Committed to professional growth to enhance student learning
• Active commitment to enhance a school community through involvement on professional committees and in student life activities.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in science field required with teaching experience in various levels of secondary education.  
• Teacher preparation program, minor in education, or certification preferred
• Commitment to inquiry based instruction and inclusion of laboratory investigations
• Strategies and research based best practices to reach students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Proven experience engaging students in class experiences that foster critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity
• Familiarity with Next Generation Science Standards
• Ability to inspire students think beyond the content and form a deeper understanding of how science applies broadly to everyday life.
• Commitment to embrace the school’s  mission and values
• Genuine enthusiasm, personal warmth and inspire a love of learning
• Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, department members and parent
