Job Description The primary responsibilities of the Fiscal Assistant is budget management. There are 9 departments and over 100 budgets in the UMM Division. The Fiscal Specialist's responsibilities include processing all expense reports, vouchers and transfers in PeopleSoft and processing reports on revenue in the CashNet system. In addition, the Fiscal Specialist is the one who processes all incoming deposits of cash and checks directly into the CashNet system as our Service Center is now a Commerce Center for our Division.
This position coordinates with the Events Manager the processing of event-related (BOC and outside vendors) invoices for buses, meals, and lodging. This position is responsible for running monthly ACRs and working with the Business Manager to reconcile each of the budgets in preparation for the quarterly and yearly reporting to the Director of the Service Center.
In addition to the budget management responsibility, the Fiscal Specialist interviews and hires student workers for the Service Center, schedules, manages and approves their weekly payroll. He/she manages the processing of new p-cards, overseeing the monthly reconciliation of p-cards for the Division and deleting p-cards as needed. He/she is the primary contact for other Division personnel who need assistance with fiscal-related issues and/or student hiring-related issues. The Fiscal Specialist conveys to the Division staff policies regarding reimbursements and p-cards and responds to questions regarding the administrative and University policies that the Service Center upholds. The Fiscal Specialist also manages office supplies and office work orders.
This position is responsible for providing secretarial and customer service support, answering phones, taking messages and compiling reports, making deposits to the Cashier's Office, and providing general assistance to the members of the Service Center, as needed.

Requirements -High School diploma required. Bachelor's preferred

-Proficient knowledge of Google
-Ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently

-Functional understanding of University administrative systems and campus-wide technologies
-Knowledgeable about internet programming and proven ability to keep current with all technology changes
-Proficient with tools such as: Adobe Acrobat, FileMaker Pro, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Kronos Time-Reporting
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively and professionally as part of a diverse team
