The purpose of Dominican Veritas Ministries shall be to embody the preaching and teaching mission of Jesus and St. Dominic in the Church through the sponsorship and governance of Dominican Veritas Ministries schools and offering programs and services consistent with Gospel imperatives. All sponsored ministries shall operate in a manner consistent with the social teaching and ethical principles of the Roman Catholic Church.
Dominican Veritas Ministries will be governed by a Member Board consisting of a representative of each participating Dominican Congregation. The Member Board of Dominican Veritas Ministries will be assisted by Dominican Veritas Ministries, Inc. a Civil Corporation, with a Trustee Board.
The Office of Dominican Veritas Ministries will serve the member board of Dominican Veritas Ministries (DVM) and the trustee board of Dominican Veritas Ministries, Inc. (DVM, Inc) as well as the individual ministries sponsored by Dominican Veritas Ministries, Inc.
Initially, three congregations (Adrian, Houston, Sinsinawa) with nine schools (7 high schools, 2 PreK-8 schools) located in Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Texas will be part of Dominican Veritas Ministries.
Four additional congregations, (Mission San Jose, Peace, Springfield, Sparkill) with nine additional schools, located in California, Illinois, Louisiana, Ohio, New York, and Tennessee, are in the process of becoming members of Dominican Veritas Ministries.
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of DVM Inc., working with both the DVM Members and the Trustees, to promote and sustain the Catholic and Dominican identities of the sponsored educational ministries. The Executive Director oversees the office which assists and facilitates the work of the DVM Member and Trustee boards in carrying out the primary sponsorship responsibilities of both mission and governance.
Initially, this position can be remotely located. As the ministry grows and expands and additional staffing becomes necessary, the Chicago area is the expected location of this team’s central office. In the meantime, candidates are expected to live near a major airport due to expected national travel requirements.
