School of the Holy Child is a 5-12 all-girls, Catholic, independent school in Westchester County, NY whose mission it is to develop “women of conscience and action.” Our founder, Cornelia Connelly, believed that all schools should embody “joy in teaching and joy in learning” and this is evident on our campus each day. Holy Child seeks an experienced math teacher. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Math teacher to teach Upper School Math courses. This multi-grade position would include instruction in Algebra II/Trigonometry for both on-level and honors courses. The ability to teach other high school courses, such as Algebra I or Pre-calculus, is an asset. The successful candidate must also possess strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills; ideally, have a minimum of three years classroom teaching experience; and be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference in students’ lives. Ideal candidates are dedicated educators who value interdisciplinary teaching and creative learning experiences. A Holy Child teacher will have the resources of a supportive department and an established curriculum; however, he or she will have the opportunity to tailor or redesign a course to meet his/her interests and passions and the needs of the students. Holy Child values hands-on, collaborative learning and works to engage the students in a Math curriculum that inspires a love for learning and interest in STEAM based fields

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach five sections of on-level and/or honors-level upper school math, which could include Algebra 1, Algebra II/Trigonometry, and Precalculus 
• Work with individual and small groups of students as needed
• Collaborate with the math department and STEM colleagues to design/map curriculum, create interdisciplinary opportunities for learning, share resources, and evaluate effective methods of teaching; participate in regular meetings with the Department Chair
• Work with the Learning Center to support students with learning differences
• Show a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion work
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with every member of the community: students, families, and colleagues alike
• Attend and participate in parent conferences and school events
• Communicate regularly and effectively with Division Deans and the Academic Dean about student progress
• Participate in grade-level and school-wide meetings as needed
• Engage with new technologies and methodologies for teaching and assessing 
• Possibly work with students in Grades 5-12 through clubs/teams or advisory 

Coupled with these credentials, the candidate will have a deep understanding of differentiated instruction, a flexible and team-oriented approach, exceptional organizational and written communication skills with attention to detail, and superior interpersonal skills. In addition, candidates with experience in an all-girl, faith-based school and those who will embrace our School's mission of developing women of conscience and action are preferable.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM required; Master’s degree in Education or STEM field preferred
• Experience teaching similar math content is required
• 1-3 years Upper School Teaching experience preferred
• Passionate and knowledgeable about progressive education, problem-based teaching and learning and differentiation
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• A good sense of humor and collegial spirit
