As CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health prepares to open our newest venture - a grades school and high school in the former Dominican Monastery in Lancaster, Pennsylvania - the organization is seeking qualified candidates to serve as our first Director of Curriculum / Pedagogical Chair.

The talented individual selected as our new Director of Curriculum (Pedagogical Chair) will help to craft our vision into a stellar curriculum and lead the faculty and staff in breathing life into the unique curriculum we envision filling the classrooms and hallways of our new school.
The Director of Curriculum (Pedagogical Chair) will work in collaboration with the Vice President of Education (Head of Schools) to develop our curriculum, design programs and learning opportunities, support and train teachers and faculty and guide our academic strategies, programs and opportunities to create lasting and meaningful relationships as well as a life-long love of learning.

Director of Curriculum (Pedagogical Chair) Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement PreK to Grade 12 curriculum and assessment
- Facilitate faculty assessment and aligned professional development
- Coordinate faculty onboarding, new teacher orientation and mentoring
- Establish protocols for school/faculty communications to families and collaborative partners
- Chair the College of Teachers
- Collaborate with the school building directors on school operations including student retention, recruitment and family/caregiver engagement and education.
- Lead the creation of a dynamic school culture where students enjoy learning
- Collaborate on the creation of school festivals
- Determine the proper balance of core subjects, special subjects, co-curricular, and fine and performing arts student opportunities
Qualifications and Characteristics:
- Bachelor's degree, master's preferred with a focus on teacher training, curriculum development
- Experience in a Waldorf-informed school setting (preferred)
- Experience and training in student assessment data management
- Desire and ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Ability to create impactful student-centered programming
- Excellent communication skills (internally and externally) leading to positive parent-school relationships
- Experience with Google Suite Applications, preferred.
