St. Mary Academy-Bay View is seeking a full-time Upper School physics teacher for the 2022-2023 academic year. Bay View has just completed a full renovation of every middle school and high school science classroom and laboratory, including five laboratories and five classrooms. In addition to the new environment, Bay View science teachers have access to state-of-the art scientific instruments to enhance the teaching and learning experience in the sciences. Successful applicants must be willing to work independently and alongside colleagues to actively create, organize, and implement an exciting curriculum supported by hands-on practice in the laboratory in order to continually enhance the academic experience of Bay View students.
Candidates must be committed to an all-girls education and Mercy values.
Prepare and teach five sections of physics primarily to students in grades 11 & 12 at various academic levels that may range from Conceptual Physics to Advanced Placement Physics.
Use Google Suite to post class expectations and enhance instruction outside of the classroom.
Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Employ high-quality instruction using evidence-based practices to support all learners
Meet with students outside of the classroom during designated office hours; and communicate with families about student progress
Attend school meetings and participate in professional development opportunities.
