The position is flexible and can be 32 or 40 hours/week, depending upon the applicant's preference. The center is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. No nights, evenings, weekends, or on call. Enjoy extra time off when the center is closed for a week over the winter holidays, as well as the week of Spring Break. This nine-month Academic Calendar position is eligible for salary and benefits spread over 12 months.The team addresses the physical health and mental health needs of a diverse, co-educational undergraduate student body. The Wellness Center houses Health Services and the Counseling Center. These teams provide Emmanuel College students with acute, chronic, and preventative care. The Wellness Center is housed in the Student Center and next to the brand-new, state of the art Nursing School. Nurse Practitioners with less than 2 year's experience practice in consultation with the Medical Director and Assistant Director of Health Services NP according to Massachusetts NP regulations.Responsibilities include:*Assessment and management of acute, chronic, and preventive health issues in undergraduate students, consistent with defined practice guidelines and professional/organizational standards of care.*Works closely with other members of Health Services team including Assistant Director NP, Medical Director, RN's. Also works alongside Counseling Center staff co-located in Wellness Center.*Practice to promote Emmanuel's Student Services Core Values: Servant Leadership, Transformative Growth, Social Action and Connected Learning.*Participates in Health and Wellness programs with our Wellness Ambassador Program as needed.*Participates in quality improvement and sharing of professional expertise and knowledge, especially as it relates to College Health.*Participates in CEU/CME opportunities per requirements by Board of Registration in Nursing and the National Credentialing Center.*Participates in interdisciplinary education programs, as feasible precepts nursing and nurse practitioner students.*Provides leadership by participating in activities that promote health and wellness of the student body.Benefits include: coverage for CME, licensure, and malpractice insuranceRequirements:*Licensed by the Board of Registration in Nursing to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Massachusetts. *Holds National Certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner.*Certification in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers*MSN with ability to provide clinical care in the health center*Valid DEA and MCS numbers for prescription writing practices*Two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
