St. Mary's High School, a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory school located in Annapolis, MD, is seeking to fill the position of Campus Minister for the 2021-2022 school year. The Campus Minister of SMHS is a lay or religious minister whose role involves fostering the formation of students in their spiritual, intellectual, social and emotional lives. In collaboration with the administration, the Campus Minister devotes himself/herself to the pastoral care, administration, collegial ministry and academic life of the school. Candidates should have an active faith life and an informed understanding of the mission of the Roman Catholic Church and the many ways in which that mission applies to the formation of young men and women in a Catholic school setting. The Campus Minister is appointed and supervised by the Principal.
Oversees the service program for all students. Maintains records through X2Vol. Facilitates service opportunities for students at local organizations.
Creates, coordinates, plans, and leads variety of spiritual exercises and experiences for the development of faculty/student spirituality.
Plans and implements a comprehensive retreat program for freshman, sophomores, and juniors. Plans and coordinates the Kairos retreat program for seniors and juniors. Coordinates and plans follow-up activities for the Kairos retreatants; activities to include prayer experiences, liturgical exercises, counseling, etc.
Plans the calendar, makes arrangements, appointments, and coordination of adult & student retreat team-leaders, development and supervision of their involvement, logistics and follow-up retreat experience.
Plans and facilitates the prayer life, i.e. daily morning and afternoon prayers.
Plans and oversees the budget for all Campus Ministry events.
Maintains all the Campus Ministry communication platforms.
Other duties to include: pastoral counseling, maintain good working relations with area parishes and schools, participate in Archdiocesan youth ministry programs, write articles for newsletters, etc. assist administration in planning and policy as requested.
Bachelor’s degree, required.
Bachelor’s degree in Theology or related field, preferred.
Experience in Youth Ministry, or related field is preferred.
