This VP will report directly to the System Chief Nursing Officer. As the VP of Nursing Operations, you be responsible for providing nursing leadership and operational oversight of nursing services provided across they system. Qualified candidates will be a Registered Nurse and have a strong business sense. Experience with workforce management or as a CNO are desired.

Implements, and ensures adherence to system nursing operational improvements, including productivity management, staffing and scheduling standardization, nursing strategic plan initiatives and implementation. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
Develops, implements, and ensures adherence to regional and ministry staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
Establishes top percentile benchmarks and directs action plans to address out of benchmark performance in conjunction with leaders at the region and ministry level. Facilitates nursing practice based on evidence and best practices, and consistent with nursing standards.
Participates in strategic planning and key performance indicator (KPI) development of the organization to optimize the role of nursing services, supporting systems and structures.
Participates in the establishment of top percentile benchmarks and directs action plans to address out of benchmark performance in conjunction with leaders at the region and ministry level.
Leads collaboration between the regional Chief Nursing Officers (CNO’s) and the regions to ensure that nursing improvements and initiatives are integrated to provide highly reliable safe, efficient quality patient care outcomes.
Implements the nursing strategic plan and pertinent KPIs of the organization to optimize the role of nursing services, supporting systems and structures.
Leads/Participates in effective recruitment and retention strategies for nursing and related support staff, assisting to lead, develop, and implement new, innovative care delivery models and strategies with an emphasis on promoting equity.
Supports regions and ministries in achieving strategic goals by leading cross-functional teams through nursing improvement initiatives resulting in improved efficiencies, advancing clinical standardization and achievement of growth plans and strategies.
Effectively represents the organization’s nursing / patient care perspective with external audiences.
As a nurse, demonstrates the professional standards defined in the professional practice model.
Uses the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics to guide his/her response to the current and evolving healthcare needs.
Utilizes the organization’s Continuous Improvement Operating Model to identify and improve complex interrelated processes that contribute to the success and failures of an organization.

Ten years' experience with five years in leadership
Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
