Responsible for creating a special events calendar, planning, and implementing all development special events; including recruiting and training volunteers. Responsible for specific fundraising goals assigned by each event. Events can include but are not limited to; Pinecrest Annual Gala, Stewardship events, Sword and Shield dinner, School Fun Run, Bowlathons, Golf Outings, Music of the Night, and misc. school fundraisers as needed.
The Development Coordinator for special events is responsible for planning and executing all fundraising events.
The Development Coordinator for Special events works closely with the other members of the Development team and also works well independently and has no direct reports.
Is responsible for creating volunteer teams to help with event fundraising but holds ultimate responsibility for each event.
The Development Coordinator for Special Events maintains all records and confidential information relating to all fundraising events.
Is responsible for gift processing, database management, gift receipts, use of Raiser's Edge software and reporting, manages event budgets to ensure expenses are controlled and revenues maximized.
Works closely with the Alumni Relations Liaison and oversees any Parent Alumni programs and events are coordinated with the liaison and the development office.
The Special Events Coordinator should meet the following qualifications:
Event planning experience, and attention to details and a passion for this kind of work.
Excellent communications skills and willingness to work as a team with volunteers.
Creativity, attention to detail and collaboration are essential skills.
Can work independently and has flexible hours, night and weekend assignments possible.
Understands and practices servant leadership.

The specific responsibilities of the Events Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following:
Staff and management of Pinecrest Annual Gala.
Ensure all special events are poised to meet their fundraising goals.
Be a productive member of the Development Office Team.
Tracking of all event details, record keeping for future reference and historical records.
Follows accounting principles in all gift processing and reporting and database management.
Guidebooks, policies and procedures are available in the School Manual to support the Development Coordinator for special events in the execution and achievement of this position’s specific responsibilities.
