Founded by the Dominican Sisters of Houston in 1906, St. Agnes Academy currently serves 935 young women in grades 9-12 and is located about 13 miles from downtown. Following the retirement of its current Head of School, the Board now seeks a dynamic and energetic leader capable of taking this exceptional school into its next chapter of excellence. St. Agnes takes pride in the fact that its students commute from many areas of Houston, as well as from outlying communities. As such, St. Agnes Academy is committed to serving a diverse student body that represents a variety of socioeconomic, cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds that reflect the diversity of the city.
To qualify, you will need to be a practicing Catholic and a proven servant leader who can embrace the Dominican charism of prayer, study, community and preaching. The Board welcomes candidates from other Catholic or independent schools as well as high-performing professionals from other mission-centered venues such as higher education, non-profit foundations or associations. While knowledge of education and school operations is preferred, other qualities and characteristics are greatly valued such as entrepreneurial leadership qualities and the ability to engage a very talented and dedicated team of faculty, staff and administration. Very important to the alumnae of the school is to find a leader who can inspire and envision a vibrant future for the Academy.
