Description: 

Connelly School of the Holy Child is looking to hire a Technical Theater Teacher to join our performing arts program. Holy Child’s performing arts program focuses on student centered and student led participation in the design and execution of all technical aspects of school productions.??Holy Child seeks an innovative arts educator with expertise in technical theater to develop, oversee, and teach in its Middle and Upper School Theater Design Program and provide support to school productions and event programming, as needed.?This technical theater position is curricular and extracurricular and includes teaching all aspects of theater design and production to students in classes and productions in grades 6-12. 

Responsibilities: 

• Design technical theater curriculum and teach theater design classes to Middle and Upper School students  
• Train, direct, and supervise stage crews and technical theater-based extracurricular groups 
• Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and the emotional development of young women 
• Integrate technology effectively into the classroom and productions  
• Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within department as well as colleagues from additional departments to align teaching practices 
• Pursue professional growth opportunities to continually grow as a teacher in order to enhance student learning
• Respond to the needs of Holy Child, including service learning, advisory program, assigned supervision and other duties as assigned
• An active commitment to enhancing our school community through involvement on committees and in student life activities
• Effective and consistent communication with students, parents, staff, and community
• Develop, select, and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse population
• Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and the emotional development of young women
