| Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic School in Tucson, Arizona seeks an educational leader who possesses a strong commitment to the Catholic faith and Catholic education. The school educates a diverse group of students in preschool through grade eight; the current enrollment is 317. The school is part of a vibrant parish community; however, many students come from areas outside the parish boundaries to receive the benefit of a Catholic school education. Our Mother of Sorrows School is accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association. The new leader should possess the ability to collaborate and communicate with numerous stakeholders, namely the pastor, parents, faculty and staff, the diocesan office of education, and the area LEAs. It is incumbent upon the school leader to establish relationships with students that will foster academic and spiritual growth as they strive to meet the expectations that Our Mother of Sorrows students “grow in faith, grow in knowledge and lovingly serve.” As the educational leader, one must have prior classroom experience and knowledge of current trends and best practices for working with the various students that the school serves. Experience with students with exceptional needs would be advantageous. In addition to overseeing the academic program, the school leader assumes responsibility for enrollment management, school finances, program development, faculty and staff support, and development.
