Principal- Independent Catholic Elementary School in Gaithersburg, Maryland

Mother of God School in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a Principal.  MOG School is a single-track, independent, co-educational accredited Catholic school, grades pre-K through 8 with an evangelistic mission and a very diverse demographic. Our school has a projected enrollment of 220 students for the 2021-2022 school year. Our PreK program is substantial with (60) 3 and 4 year old students enrolled. Our average class size for kindergarten through 8th grade is 20 students. MOG School is a close-knit school community, with excellent academics and a warm, faith-filled atmosphere. A recent teacher survey highlighted these school traits; faith, a strong faculty culture/community, small class size and academic excellence. 

Just as Catholic schools are at the heart of the Church, so, too, is faith at the heart of everything we do. Catholic schools exist to extend the Church’s evangelizing mission.  At Mother of God School, faith is not an extra. Our goal is to encourage every student, teacher, and parent to a relationship with the saving person of Jesus Christ. 

We seek a candidate for Principal who is a faith-filled Catholic, loyal to the Magisterium, with dynamic leadership skills.  The applicant will hold at least a master’s degree in educational administration or a related field, with a minimum of five years educational experience, part of which is in Catholic or private independent schools.  Experience as a principal or part of a leadership team is greatly preferred.

The selected candidate will assume responsibility for daily operations of the school, under the direction of a governing Board of Directors and in team with a President.  Excellent communication skills, with staff as well as the school community and beyond, are a must.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.  Position is available beginning with the 2021-2022 school year.  Resumes must be submitted by March 15, 2021 to ensure full consideration and letters of reference will be expected at time of interview.
