St. Joseph’s Catholic School is seeking a development and marketing director who is an energetic, enthusiastic faith filled individual. St. Joseph’s Catholic School is a K-8 school in the Diocese of Boise that serves as a ministry of St. John’s Catholic Community and is located in Boise, Idaho. Primary Function: Under the direction of the school principal is responsible for supporting the development, marketing and fundraising efforts of St. Joseph’s Catholic School. The new Director will demonstrate an appreciation and understanding of the culture, values and mission of St. Joseph’s Catholic School and will be responsible for the planning, facilitation and execution of all advancement activities including: annual giving, capital giving, major gifts, grant writing, alumni relations, prospect research and cultivation, special events and special projects. The job will also include marketing and communications responsibilities. This is a .75 time paid position: Specific and flexible time will be required based on school calendar, Crab Feed and other major fund raising needs. The position will require work from home, at St. Joseph’s Catholic School and other venues. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Recognize and support the Catholic Mission and Identity of the School by speaking and acting, consistent with the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. The employee may not espouse any doctrine inconsistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Give evidence of living Gospel values by being an active member of a faith community and being open to the importance of a personal faith journey; strive to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example
- Motivates and leads to meet and/or exceed fundraising and related goals, while interacting with parents, alumnae, faculty and friends of the school
- Conduct St. Joseph’s School Tours as scheduled
Marketing: - Develops, coordinates and implements public relations strategies and initiatives
- Create institutional brochures, weekly communication, goal-specific mailing pieces; creation and coordination of distribution for posters, flyers, banners and displays as needed
- Manage all social media networks
- Coordinates public relations, media relations, and communication activities for the school
- Uses social media channels to promote school fundraising activities and information
- Works collaboratively with the principal to help draft and review presentation, talking points, articles, press releases, public statements, brochures, flyers, handouts, publications, media releases, press advisories and other communications to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Creates and distributes marketing materials
Development: - Creates and implements a strategic fundraising and external relations initiative to bolster annual giving ensuring that campaign goals are reached
- Ability to develop and oversee capital campaign as needed
- Broaden donor base through increased prospect research, engagement, and networking with individuals, corporations and foundations
- Secure major gifts
- Responsible for identifying, cultivating and soliciting major donors to ensure campaign success, including creating a personal major gift portfolio and prospects
- Identifies areas of growth with a strong focus on parent and alumnae giving
- Oversees/manages St. Joseph’s Catholic School fundraising efforts in cooperation with the St. Joseph’s Parent Association – SJPA. These include but are not limited to – Fall Carnival, Uncorked, Crab Feed, etc.
