For more information, visit www.emmanuel.edu.Reporting to the Associate Dean of Library and Learning Resources, the Director of Academic Technology and Innovation will acquire, evaluate and maintain a suite of e-learning tools and academic software that support excellence in teaching and learning at the College. In consultation with the Associate Dean, the Director will plan and oversee academic technology budget. and negotiate and administer contracts for LMS and related SAAS. The Director will also provide leadership in building faculty development programs in the areas of teaching strategies, instructional design and educational innovation. Responsible for supervising a team that supports faculty in their use of the LMS (currently Canvas) and other learning technologies. Will also oversee the DiscoveryLab, a newly renovated community makerspace.The Director also works closely with other Learning Commons staff, especially research librarians, to provide seamless, individualized support to all College instructors. The Director is responsible for communicating with key academic staff including department chairs and deans in order to provide tailored resources to the faculty and will track and integrate as appropriate emerging trends in technology, best practices, course design, and curriculum development.Our ideal candidates will have a Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or a related field. Candidates should also possess at least five years of experience, preferably in higher education.
