| Visitation Academy of St. Louis is an independent Catholic school offering a coeducational Montessori program in Grades Toddler through Kindergarten and an all-girl environment in Grades 1 through 12. Visitation Academy is the ministry of the Sisters of the Visitation, whose way of life expresses the spirituality of the founders of their Order, St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal. These saints encouraged all to “Live Jesus” with kindness, gentleness, humility, and thoughtful concern for others. Visitation Academy is seeking a part-time music teacher for Toddler-Grade 5 for the 2021-2022 school year. Curriculum covered in Grades 1-5 includes vocal music, as well as basic music theory, basic instrumental music and application, and general music history. The Lower School music teacher will ideally have a background in liturgical music and will be responsible for music at Lower School Masses, our annual Christmas programs, and a spring program. The Lower School music teacher also directs the Lower School choir. Additionally, the Lower School music teacher traditionally has acted as the music director for the spring musical. Elementary and music education certification is required; a master’s degree is preferred but not required. Experience with liturgical music is a plus.
