The Technology Procurement and Asset Specialist is responsible for the acquisition and tracking of University technology equipment and software. The Specialist maintains an inventory of all University computers and software assets and manages licensing, support terms, and maintenance agreements which are executed as part of the acquisition. In addition, the Specialist is responsible for relationship management with vendors and divisional representatives who assist in supporting divisional technology needs. The position also works closely with the Procurement Department, Finance Office, and the General Counsel’s Office. -Facilitate the Procurement and Asset Management process including: Serve as a backup to assist with monitoring and managing service requests received from users via telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person. Provide technical and professional guidance to student employees working in the Office of Information Technology to ensure that they are productive employees of the department and learn from the real-world experience. Manage and delegate special project requests as received. Remain current with ongoing developments in the field of information technology to ensure that University is poised to take advantage of emerging trends and developments in those areas

Bachelor’s degree preferably in a technology discipline. 3-5 years of experience related to technology procurement Experience working with technology vendor and managing vendor relationships Demonstrated budgeting, inventory, forecasting and expense management skills. Understanding of technology solutions including end user devices as well as software Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and customer service skills. Familiarity with software licensing, intellectual property, and contractual language Aptitude to learn new technology quickly. Enthusiasm, dedication to quality customer service standards and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong analysis, problem solving, and analytical skills. Must be able to sit and answer phones for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry small computer equipment (< 40 lbs.) Must be able to walk across campus for face-to-face meetings with users. |
