Founded in 1967, De Smet Jesuit High School is a premier all-boys Jesuit secondary school. Located in an attractive suburb of St. Louis, this outstanding school enrolls 679 young men from a wide geographical footprint and is rock-solid in every material and spiritual sense. The school is also in the fourth year of a five-year strategic plan, which includes a capital campaign component kicking in this year. The next president will have an exceptional opportunity to bring the plan to completion while preparing the community for a bold new vision and plan for the school.
Like all Jesuit secondary schools, De Smet operates in the President/Principal Model, and seeks a visionary and faith-filled leader who will build on the current momentum and work closely and collegially with the board and senior leadership team in taking this outstanding school to the next level. To qualify, you will need to be a practicing Catholic and accomplished servant leader with a significant portfolio of results. The board welcomes candidates from other Catholic, Jesuit, or independent schools as well as accomplished executives from other mission-critical career venues such as higher education; non-profit foundations, associations, charities and the like; or the corporate, civic, and professional services arenas. While knowledge of education and secondary school operations is preferred, other qualities and experiences are also valued, especially visionary, entrepreneurial leadership and the ability to inspire, lead a high performing team, and create demand for the extraordinary gifts of a De Smet Jesuit education. This is an extraordinary eadership opportunity.
