Provides guidance and structure for a range of student services offered by career services, including internship, entry-level jobs, recruiting services, alumni employment services, outreach/marketing, staff orientation, and programming. The director also oversees the delivery, marketing, and content of all employment services and information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
(1) Supervises the Career Information Coordinator, Assistant Directors. (2) Monitors and evaluates operations and corresponding policies related to student access to services, internal and external communications, staffing, and workflow. (3) Provides frameworks for developing systems that ensure integration and efficiency of communication, information management, staffing, and workflow as well as the technological tools needed to support them. (4) Provides guidance and oversight to all areas of the department and in identification and purchase of career-exploration and job-search literature/resources and technologies. (5) Troubleshoots concerns and inquiries by alumni, parents, students, and employers. (6) Provides leadership to the department and composes staff job description in support of operational systems. (7) Oversees employment-related functions in the department including cultivating new internship and entry-level job opportunities, and the selection and evaluation of technologies for providing access to students. (8) With Assistant Directors, oversees comprehensive on-campus recruiting activities, with emphasis on policy-setting and educational activities. (9) Mediates protocol conflicts between recruiting employers and students. (10) Coordinates office participation in external job fairs and consortia, overseeing outreach/marketing coordinator who orchestrates marketing and student participation. (11) Oversees the development of an comprehensive and strategic plan and implementation of marketing/outreach, faculty outreach, and associated programming. (12) Promotes collaborative ventures with faculty to better serve students with divergent career interests. (13) Regularly conducts workshops on career exploration/job search and organizes panels. (14) Contributes to the direction and evaluation of the department’s fundraising plans and strategies, via the fundraising committee. (15) Reviews and evaluates assessment tools and resources, training staff in their use and providing student interpretations of results. (16) Monitors student interests and workplace/industry trends in order to guide strategic planning and programmatic initiatives. (17) All other duties as assigned.
A college degree and a professional certificate or graduate degree.
Experience (Minimum/Preferred): Five years to seven years.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Supervision of professional staff, experience with employer outreach.
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 1O pounds).
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.

Salary/Pay Information: Commensurate with experience.
Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with occasional nights and weekends.
