Organization: Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School is a Catholic learning community that educates young people with limited economic means, of any faith or creed, to become men and women for and with others. Through a unique and rigorous college preparatory curriculum, integrated with a relevant work study experience, students graduate prepared for college and life. Current enrollment is 530 students served by a faculty of 33 teachers and about 20 administrative, work-study support and counseling professionals.
Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit is an apostolate of the Society of Jesus and one of 62 Jesuit high schools across the United States. Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit utilizes a longer school day and year, structured academic assistance, and counseling support to prepare students for college. All students enrolled in the school participate in a unique Corporate Work Study Program through which they develop important skills and finance the majority of the cost of their education. The Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit Corporate Work Study Program provides students the opportunity to build core skills that will help them succeed in college, workplace and life.
Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School is based on a proven model of success and is a member of a network of 37 Cristo Rey schools around the country that empower students from lower income sectors to achieve their full potential. Cristo Rey schools offer a unique curriculum that combines academics, extracurricular programs, and professional work experience to prepare students for success in college and beyond. This model works, with 100% of graduates being accepted into college.
Position: The Principal is the chief academic officer of the school. As a key manager, he/she is responsible for providing leadership, focus and direction to the faculty. The Principal will maintain and enhance the Society of Jesus charism throughout all facets and activities of the school. The Principal will report to the President.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate must be a committed Catholic, embody and promote the mission and charism of the Society of Jesus. He/she will have appropriate academic credentials and experience leading economically challenged students to higher levels of achievement. The ideal candidate will be student focused and an adaptable leader with well-developed communication and people skills. He/she will have the desire, energy and professionalism to lead and grow the school. The successful candidate will have the ability to be proactive and flexible in problem solving. He/she will possess the desire and personality to create and work within a truly collegial environment.
