The Director of Advancement provides leadership, planning, and management in the overall fundraising, marketing, and messaging plan to help sustain long-term growth for Christian Brothers High School. This position works closely with other departments to ensure that CBHS’s mission is carried out, while building a culture of philanthropy.
Leads the Development Staff and Alumni Staff in a productive and efficient manner.
Supervises the Annual Fund program and its current staff.
Coordinates all stewardship and donor engagement with the Development Staff.
Develops strategies to grow the Annual Fund by 12 percent a year.
Serves as the Lead for Phase III of the Capital Campaign.
Works in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communication on all development and campaign materials.
Works to reconnect and engage the current Alumni base with the Director of Alumni.
Provides the President a weekly update on all advancement activities and solicitations.
Works directly with the President on all capital project fundraising.
Approves all donor engagement with staff and assigns specific staff to capital campaign donors for active stewardship and correspondence.
Conducts weekly staff meetings and quarterly audits of fundraising activities and solicitations.
Works in collaboration with the Leadership Team of CBHS.
Actively works to support the Development Committee of the Board.
Serves as the lead in all fundraising activities and projects for philanthropic support.
Effectively manages budgets related to the Advancement Office.
Institutes proper mechanics, tools, and software to maintain an effective donor/alumni management system.
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred
3 – 6 years of work experience in fundraising for education or not-for-profit organization
Must have capital giving experience and familiarity with Wealth Engine and Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead and supervise staff
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks or assignments
Experience with financial management and budgetary decisions
Experience working in Catholic schools or parishes
