The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the overall management and strategic leadership of the Business Office, reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Audit and Finance Committee. The CFO must be a strategic thinker who will provide strong, innovative financial stewardship, grants and treasury management, campus development, implementation of long-term goals, and financial oversight. In addition, the CFO will serve as a resource to members of the executive leadership team on financial, personnel, operational, and administrative matters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage strategic leadership of the Business Office to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare and present quarterly financial statements to the President and CEO and the Audit and Finance Committee members.
Create ad hoc reporting as needed.
Prepare annual budgets and forecasts and analyze actual to budget variances.
Research and model alternative tuition and financial aid programs, lease vs. buy scenarios, and to ensure best practices while maintaining competitive advantage.
Perform risk assessment including review and implementation of effective internal controls.
Oversee and/or perform general business office functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset management, and payroll.
Responsible for reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
Maintain and/or create banking, treasury, and credit relationships.
Oversee the School’s investments, including endowment, capital expenditures reserve, and growth accounts; and serve as a member of the Investment Sub-Committee.
Prepare annual financial statements and represent the School before external auditor related to annual financial audit and management advice letters.
Responsible for liability and workers’ compensation insurance and 403(b) plan administration.
Interact with other leadership teams such as principal, admissions, plant and facilities, human resources, advancement, etc.,as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The CFO will supervise Business Office staff as required to perform the essential functions of the Business Office.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, five years or more of progressively responsible experience in finance, and non-profit experience required. School environment with Blackbaud experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSES: Active CPA required.
